Man it sucks to say that I'm a bruin alum right now...I feel humiliated, and I'm not even on the football team..I know that the UCLA football team feels pretty low right now . They went from being the talk of the town to the laughing stocks of LA .  Well...perhaps I could hide my UCLA sweaters, hats, and shirts and put on a trojan jacket and come to terms with the fact that I'm now a USC grad student.....nah.  I love trojan football, its fun and exciting but, although I am a Trojan by name I'm still a Bruin at heart!

Recently, I found myself doubting myself.  This is something that I rarely do (or at least something that I rarely admit to doing) and it actually caught me unawares.  I'm still unsure as to how I arrived to that point.  I just found myself doubting my dream, which is to work and lead in the forefront of new technological innovations that are designed to positively impact the world.  In other words, be the next 2015 version of George Washington Carver or Lonnie Johnson or Alexander Fleming, for example.  I started doubting whether I would see success in my current business endeavors.  I even started doubting whether I could really be used by God to deeply affect other people's lives, specifically meaning, help people believe in Jesus.

But after reading Romans 4:18-24, those temporary feelings quickly vanished.

"Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations." No matter how many times I read those first few words, it makes no logical sense.  It's absolutely profound.  It also says "he didn't waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he promised."  This reminds me of Hebrews 11:1, which when I put in my own words is saying,

"Faith is the substance that gives air a shadow."

In essence, the absence of faith is like the absence of Christianity...the work hand in hand.

Earthquake in Pakistan...hurrincane in Mexico...two hurricane's in New Orleans...local fires...wars breaking out everywhere...

what do YOU think is going on?

Matthew 24: 1-14

Signs of the End of the Age

1Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2"Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Did you know that the average of a homeless person is 9 years old?  I heard it on the radio then I looked it up on the internet to verify it. Pretty sad.

Quote of the day:

"Don't seek to do great things, seek to do small things with great love" (Mother Teresa).
